Aaaahhh ... the ark!

Sam's chart of 35 squares is filled with animal stickers -- he's getting pretty good at this potty stuff. It's mind-boggling how he can do so well for most of the day and then not so well for the rest of it. Distractions are many. So, tonight we finally opened the long-awaited ark (it's been in the closet for over 3 months) .... AND just as I expected, he got so busy with it that he had an accident! Gotta keep your sense of humor in this whole game.

VBS is this week from 9am-noon. We're having a Jungle Adventure ... complete with a lifesize gorilla in costume that Sam is extremely leary of! It's so ironic to us that he loves animals sooo much but yet not live ones or even costumed ones. I'm in Sam's class, while Zach is being cared for by the nursery workers. It's a full morning complete with an opening assembly w/skits (Doug is in those along with a couple others and the gorilla) and songs (Zach was in the assembly too -- shouting, "Dah, dah" and wanting to get down and walk to the stage to Doug!), then our Bible story in the classroom, followed by games, snacks, crafts, and more play. We'll be better prepared for tomorrow -- now that we know how today went. More is planned and more fun will be had. Doug's class dubbed themselves the "Lion Kings" (6th/7th grades) ... our only senior in the fall Andrew and Emily Z. are in there with him while Doug teaches. I think they're enjoying being silly "kings of the jungle". :)

I'm really missing my camera ... no camera, no pics to post, sadness.
