Sunday

It seems like we've been together longer than just a couple days. And that's in a good way. Wink. Seriously, though, on a normal trip north for us we may spend 3 hours with the whole family together. Thankfully, our days are schedule-free and fairly spontaneous. We're a block from the beach with a pool/spa on the rooftop deck. Because there are three floors of living space with only two or three families sharing each suite, there is plenty of room for everyone to do their thing in close proximity but still not feeling cramped. It really is ideal, in my opinion.

Last night was our anniversary celebration night. Joy and Terry grilled steak tips for dinner (each sibling is cooking one night for the whole group) which were incredible. Some family photos were taken and then the ancient slide projector and screen were set up. Mom and Dad showed us their wedding photos and shared some of the story. They relived some of their memories as Mom put on her veil and Dad slung his wedding suitcoat over his shoulder, cut and fed cake to each other, and re-enacted that wedding kiss. It was a really great night. Sam and Zach won't forget it. And neither will I.

Having a blast ...

  3. It's nice that you are finding time to blog - for some reason I never get any done while we're in NOLA. I'm so glad you're having an great time. And hopefully drama-free. ;-) I looked through your niece's pictures on facebook - the anniversary party looked like a blast. It's great that they have so many pictures of their wedding and first years. You're description totally reminds me of the family reunion we had for my grandmother's 80th birthday. It was really special.
