Pastors Retreat

The IFCA is putting together a conference/retreat for the IFCA pastors and their wives that have been serving in the Katrina and Rita affected areas. So, Doug and I are off to Baton Rouge to stay at the Courtyard by Marriott. We arrive at the hotel on Monday afternoon and should be home on Wednesday afternoon. We're taking Zach with us so that should be interesting. It's probably a good thing we planned it this way as he's still getting over his ear infections and now has a pretty nasty cough and stuffy nose. Even if I have to miss some sessions, it will be a nice break. Sam is staying overnight with Rob and Christina in the evenings and will be at his friends' house during the day times. He's only spent one night without us in another place and that was almost a year ago -- he loves his aunt and uncle and playing at Tucker and Silas' house, so I think he'll do okay.

Also, since we'll be out of our house, a volunteer work team will be coming to our house on Tuesday and Wednesday to replace the ceiling in the boys' room that is warped and has water damage from the tree that broke through our roof during Katrina. We're happy to have the mess done while we're not here ... hopefully they won't find more issues in the process of replacing the existing "baghass" ceiling with sheetrock.
